Alec Baldwin spotted luxe shopping in Vermont following deadly ‘Rust’ set shooting

On the set of ‘Rust,’ the actor accidentally killed cameraman Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza.

EXCLUSIVE: Alec Baldwin is relaxing with his family in Vermont, a week after the “Rust” movie production in which cinematographer Halyna Hutchins died and director Joel Souza was injured.

The 63-year-old was caught shopping in a small Vermont hamlet at a clothing store. Over his freshly shaved face, he wore a blue mask.

Baldwin exited the store wearing a plaid shirt and dark jeans and carrying a brown paper bag.

Baldwin was spotted on foot picking up a meal order from a nearby Italian restaurant on Monday, indicating that he has been in New England since Monday.

Baldwin shot Hutchins and Souza with a revolver he thought was “cool” but had live ammunition on the set of the Western film in New Mexico on Oct. 21.

Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza told reporters at a news conference on Wednesday that “it is too early in the investigation to speak on charges” and that his agency is working with the FBI to examine the evidence.

Baldwin has also been cooperating with the authorities, according to him.

District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies has declined to comment on any potential charges against Baldwin. She did say, though, that criminal charges are being considered.

“We won’t be able to answer that question until we finish a more thorough inquiry,” she said.

Assistant director Dave Halls handed Baldwin what he thought was a “cold gun,” and he pulled the trigger. According to a search warrant obtained by Fox News from the Santa Fe Sheriff’s Office, the assistant director told the actor that the rifle was empty. At the start of the news conference, Sheriff Mendoza recapped the events.

A single-action revolver that may have been modified and a plastic gun that was described as a revolver was also recovered, according to officials.

During the execution of the warrant, authorities took three revolvers, a fanny pack with “ammo,” “loose ammo,” nine “spent casing(s),” and 14 samples of “suspected blood,” according to an inventory report obtained by Fox News on Tuesday. Sheriff Mendoza stated that 500 shots were removed from the site, but he did not specify whether they were real, dummy, or pretend rounds.

“Obviously, I believe the industry has a recent track record of being safe. I believe there was some complacency on this set, and I believe the industry and potentially the state of New Mexico need to address certain safety concerns “Sheriff Mendoza stated the following.

Both Baldwin and his wife Hilaria have issued statements in response to Hutchins’ death. “There are no words to express my sorrow and anguish over the horrific accident that claimed the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother, and deeply loved colleague of ours,” Baldwin said on Twitter on Oct. 22.

“I’m fully working with the police inquiry into how this tragedy transpired, and I’ve reached out to her husband to express my condolences and offer my support to him and his family. My heart breaks for Halyna’s husband, their son, and everyone who knew and loved her “The actor came to an end.
