His wife died in his arms at the hospital. Destroyed by the pain, the man put an envelope in the pocket of the doctor.

A guy who lost his wife while hospitalized addressed a note to the doctor who treated her case with a frightening message.

Laura Levis died of an asthma attack at the age of 34. Peter DeMarco, the woman’s husband, felt compelled to write a letter to the medical professionals who were caring for her. The following is a portion of the note written by the man:

“(…) I know you wrapped her up every time, either because the room was cold or because you wanted her to sleep better, but she couldn’t figure it out.” (…) I recall how well you looked after me.

What would I have done if it hadn’t been for your strength? My head was resting on her hand as I sat. From behind, I could see you walking in and doing your work without troubling us for a second, like if you were invisible…

How can I forget how you helped me stay as close to her as possible despite the infinity of cables that separated us? How many times have you failed to inquire as to whether I require food, water, clothing, or a shower?

Do you think I’ll ever get over the times when, instead of returning home to your children or spouses, you stayed with me to look at Laura, a man you’d never met, in his photo album?

You would give me a computer if I required email in an emergency. Oh, or that night when you closed your eyes and told me to invite 50 people, from family to her students, into that small room?

When did you give me permission to listen to music, dance, and recall what type of man he was? Yes, it was our final night together. “Would it have been feasible if it hadn’t been for you?”

I’d like you to know that I’ve been in communication with my father-in-law, who is a doctor, and everything you’re doing is being double-checked. I was scared, and I apologize for my skepticism.

Thank you for not torturing Laura to death. She passed away quietly. Beautiful. As if she were a princess. The doctor’s husband wrote, “She will always be my princess.”
