If you’re the type that can’t put a smile on their face when they get a Christmas gift they don’t like, you could learn a thing or two from this girl.
Ray, 20, couldn’t have been happier when her boyfriend, Braxton Sislo, 21, gave her a fairly empty gift.
Braxton, who works at a phone accessory store, had given Ray an empty box that his supervisor had given him after it had previously been used to carry a new phone. He assumed Braxton would be able to put it to good use.
Braxton, on the other hand, believed it would be ideal for Ray to keep some of her smaller belongings in there.
As a result, Braxton texted Ray a snapshot of the box.
‘It’s just a box,’ he replied, attempting not to raise her expectations.
Ray, on the other hand, didn’t seem to need to raise her expectations because she was already overjoyed to be receiving the package.
Braxton, in surprise, that his girlfriend could be so appreciative for something that was empty, tweeted a screenshot of their discussion to all of his followers, in disbelief that she could be so grateful for something that was empty.
Some were so moved by Ray’s thanks to that they decided to try out the modest present idea on their own relationships – but the results were mixed.
While Braxton intends to purchase Ray a proper Christmas present, he believes his girlfriend’s gratitude serves as an excellent reminder that ‘gifts and things aren’t the most important thing.’
And we couldn’t be more in agreement (though still Braxton, do actually buy her a gift).
