This is insane — it turns out you can color your hair with a delectable mixture of Nutella and condensed milk.
Huda Kattan, a beauty blogger, posted a video on Instagram showing a woman getting her hair treated with hazelnut chocolate spread, which is commonly used to top toast, fill croissants, and swirl into brioche.
The woman had her hair done at Dubai’s Added & Samer salon. She came in with blonde hair and left with a soft, luscious shade of brunette.
The hairdresser’s method/recipe is straightforward: she smothers the client’s hair in Nutella, drizzles a little condensed milk on top, and then wraps tin foil over the top to seal in the sweetness.
After a few minutes of marinating, the sweet mixture is washed out, and voila! Hair that looks delicious enough to eat.
We get what you’re thinking: a little chocolate spread and sugary milk couldn’t really keep you brunette for long, can it? Isn’t the change only temporary?
The salon told Metro, “It depends on the hair.”
“It can last two or three weeks if you want a light caramel color, but if you want it deeper and are prepared to keep the chocolate on longer, it will last longer.”
“Aside from the color, Nutella is healthy for the hair since it helps it shine.”
So there you have it: Nutella isn’t only a tasty treat; it’s also a hair product. Who’d have guessed?
