To get her, they smashed a car window.
Police broke into a car to save an elderly woman who was motionless in an abandoned vehicle — but it was a dummy.
According to accounts, a 911 caller notified authorities that a woman was frozen to death inside the vehicle in Hudson, New York, and they swiftly dispatched a rescue crew.

The temperature inside the parked automobile was 5 degrees, and the “lady” was wearing a seatbelt.
According to CNN, officers busted the glass and discovered an incredibly realistic CPR dummy with hair, authentic clothing, and skin imperfections.
The car’s owner eventually came up, police claimed, and told them he worked for a company that provides medical training equipment.
He was reportedly enraged when the cops busted his window.
In a statement, Hudson Police Chief Edward Moore said, “If you park your parked vehicle on the street on a sub-zero night with a life-size realistic mannequin seated in it… we will shatter your window.”
There were no charges filed.
