In April 2015, an ambulance from Ukraine brought a future mother to the hospital with a unique case. The doctors did not expect to see anything so unusual, but after the initial consultation they became confused: even though she was only in the seventh month of pregnancy, something was literally pushing her baby out!
What was the mystery? Elena Sedova (25 years old) was expecting triplets: two fetuses were located at the top of the uterus, and one at the bottom.
By their own weight, the girls upstairs were pushing their sister out. During the last few days, Elena felt a strange movement in her abdomen, but she hoped that the labor would not start prematurely.
What happened next will not happen in any other ordinary pregnancy: little Likeria was born in the seventh month of pregnancy. Tiny and thin, she weighed only 950 grams.
The little girl was immediately placed in an incubator, and the doctors were preparing for the birth of the other two little ones. But suddenly, to everyone’s amazement, Elena’s contractions stopped, according to Perfect Media.
At this point, the doctors had to make a very difficult choice. Usually, twins appear in the world with a long time interval between them, for example, an hour, if this interval is exceeded, labor is artificially stimulated.
However, now the specialists did not know if this was a good idea. The other two girls were even smaller than their sister. They could simply not survive, which is why the doctors decided to wait.
To protect the health of the children, Elena was forced to stay in bed at all times. She wasn’t even allowed to take care of her newborn daughter, and in the meantime, she was worried about the other two little ones who seemed to be moving less and less in her belly.
That’s how a day, two days, a week went by… Two weeks. Three… Doctors were already asking for advice from their colleagues around the world: there had never been such a thing in their entire career.
38 days later, when little Likeria had grown to 1.5 kg, Elena suddenly felt a strong weakness and restlessness. The doctors consulted her and decided that the time of her birth had come. On the same day, two healthy and wonderful little girls appeared in the world – Zlata and Stephaniya. And Elena was finally able to hug her three little ones.
These unique triplets are now two years old, and Likeria, who was twice as small at birth as her sisters, is now no inferior. They are all healthy and active! We wish them as interesting and unique lives as their debut in this world.
