The woman suffers from a condition that causes fluid retention and swelling of body tissues due to a problem with the lymphatic system. This means that the woman has up to 5 liters in excess, in the right leg.
Meagan was only 15 years old when she was diagnosed with this disease, and so she ended up having one of her extremely different legs. And because of this unusual part of the body, the woman became a “victim”, often humiliated by those around her.
Meagan was so affected and embarrassed by her illness that she decided to hide this defect as best she could. She never wore shorts, swimsuits, or skirts. She kept everything a secret, even from her 27-year-old life partner, named Robert.
Although it was hard for her at first, Meagan decided she had to get over it and decided to break the silence and talk openly about her illness. Thus, other people who suffered from the same thing gained more courage.
So Meagan decided to make the most of every moment of her life, today is a source of inspiration and a role model for all women.
“I really don’t know how I was able to hide this for so long. I wouldn’t want other young women to go through what I went through. I had moments when I didn’t want to live in those conditions anymore. After I decided to admit my condition and not hide anymore, I was much happier. When I remember what depression I went through… I didn’t even want to go to school, every day I cried and felt that life ended at an early age, at 15 years old, ” said Meagan.
