He found $ 100,000 in a suitcase thrown in a trash can and a note

Some people are born wealthy, while others strive for prosperity. But the money came easily to a homeless guy named Ted Rodrigue, although a little late. He wasn’t required to work at all, but he was given $ 100,000 to help him get his life back on track.

Given that he was given so much money to start anew, you’d assume Rodrique was one of the luckiest homeless persons in the world. But the truth about this man’s life is completely different. Rodrigue was forced to return to the streets after squandering all of his money in the most heinous manner possible.

Ted lived in a tunnel beneath a bridge in California, collecting bottles from the street and recycling them for a pittance. However, in 2005, Wayne Powers used his life as part of a social experiment. The plan was to give a homeless man $100,000 and then chronicle his life. He was tossing $ 35 in the trash one day, money he had spent on food, drink, and cigarettes.

Ted came across a suitcase in a garbage can one day, and when he opened it, he discovered it was full of cash. “What would a homeless guy do on the streets if he were given $100,000?” read another note. That’s when he discovered he was in possession of the money.

Ted began purchasing the items he had always desired now that he had money. He hired a hotel room, rented a bicycle, and brought a friend to an amusement park. He quickly gained a friend, and after women learned he was wealthy, they became increasingly interested in him.

He had the greatest fun with all of the money he had. Ted ignored the advice of the documentary’s creators to meet with an economist for advice on what to do with the funds and continued to spend. Then he went out and bought a $35,000 vehicle.

Ted then began spending $10,000 every week, and his sister recommended him to look for work, but Ted ended up wasting his money in less than six months. He still lives on the streets beneath the same bridge today.

What are your thoughts on Ted’s tale? What would you do if you were given a million dollars? Would you make the same decision?
