How did the Duchess of Sussex appear at a public event?

On the eve of the inauguration of the Invictus Games, the fifth edition staged in the Netherlands for wounded troops, Prince Harry of Great Britain and his wife, Meghan Markle, was greeted with shouts on Friday in The Hague.

The Netflix video crew, with whom the dukes are collaborating on a documentary to record every moment, followed them. According to the Daily Mail, the crew of the streaming behemoth barely made their way among the scores of cameras waiting for the Dukes of Sussex.

Meghan donned a white suit with slacks, a matching bag, and gold accessories, while Prince Harry wore an immaculate blue suit with a white shirt with an open collar. With a wide smile on her face, the former actress waved to the audience.

Meghan appears to have fully disassociated herself from royal conventions, as the attire does not appeal to the queen in the least. Her Majesty is well-known for opposing the wearing of trousers on such occasions.

Local authorities have given the two “VIP” status, granting them the highest level of local protection, which could be seen as an attempt to justify their absence from Prince Philip’s memorial service at Westminster Abbey, which has been postponed since last month because the queen refused to guarantee them increased protection.

Many critics have claimed that the Dukes of Sussex are “earning” money from games by letting Netflix, with whom they recently inked a $ 100 million deal, to attend private meetings.

Heart of Invictus, a documentary about the Games, will be the first documentary series co-produced by Netflix and the Duke and Duchess’ own Archewell Productions.

On Friday, the couple attended a reception hosted by the Dutch Ministry of Defense and the Hague, where the games are being held. Meghan and Harry will also attend the opening ceremony on Saturday, where they will deliver a speech.

The Invictus Games, founded by Harry, who served in the British Army in Afghanistan, are an international athletic event for wounded and impaired troops and war veterans that is akin to the Paralympic Games.

The event will end on April 22 after being postponed twice owing to the pandemic.

The Invictus Games, which were first staged in London in September 2014, are a frequent topic in Harry and Meghan’s relationship.
