Will Smith lost a lot of respect for Steve Harvey after the actor slapped comedian Chris Rock at the Oscars, according to Steve Harvey.
When Rock made a joke about his wife’s baldness, Smith delivered a slap that went viral. Hundreds of millions of people around the world condemned Smith’s conduct, making the incident the most talked-about topic during this year’s Academy Awards.
Celebrity TV host Steve Harvey appears to be one of them. He called Smith’s slap a “punk maneuver,” implying that he did it simply because he knew there would be no consequences during the live broadcast.

“I lost a lot of respect for him,” Harvey told Yahoo. He is believed to have told a group of a few dozen law students and over 100 others who gathered to hear him speak on April 25 at Georgia State University.
“I’m a Christian, but I’m not very mature.” I don’t have a strong Christian faith. “I’m a 2 on a scale of 1 to 10,” Harvey stated.
“I can work on that level of Christianity.” He’ll turn the other cheek if you slap [Pastor] T.D. Jakes. You’re slapping me? Jada [Pinkett Smith] would have to move out of the way if you sat back in your seat. That describes the kind of Christian I am.”
The repercussions of the’slap heard around the world’ have been extensive, and Smith is undoubtedly bearing the brunt of them. The King Richard star apologized to both Rock and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences after accepting an Oscar the same night he slapped Rock.
Smith left the group as well, just before officials forbade him from attending academy activities for the next decade. However, he was allowed to keep his Best Actor Oscar.
According to a report in the Spanish newspaper Marca, Smith’s decision to protect his wife’s honor did not bring them closer together but rather drove a hole between them. The couple has been married for 20 years, but there has been conjecture in recent years that they have had to work hard on their passion.
Meanwhile, Rock appeared to have shrugged off the slap. It’s unclear whether he was aware that Jada Pinkett Smith had alopecia when he made the joke about her hairlessness.
I’m still not sure what Will Smith was thinking when he got up on stage at the Oscars and slapped Chris Rock.
Do you think his actions are justified in any way? If so, please share your ideas in the comments section.
