An unprecedented case shocked an entire world
An unprecedented case shocked an entire world after a three-week-old girl was pregnant with twins. Although this may seem impossible, doctors have a plausible explanation for this.
A mother from China had the experience of her life shortly after birth. She lived with her husband in a small town in China and found out she was pregnant. Everything went according to plan, and the visits to the doctor made her happier and happier. In the last months of pregnancy, the woman found out that she will have a baby girl.
The moment of birth had come and the doctors told her that she had given birth to a 100% healthy baby girl. Nothing could be better, and the new family arrived home happy.
After only three weeks, the doctors noticed a very strange thing in the newborn baby girl, and when they did several checks and analyzes they were shocked by what they saw. The three-week-old girl was carrying two twins in her small womb.
The parents could not believe what they heard and were very scared thinking how such an event was possible and the fact that this could endanger the life of their baby who was not even a month old.
Doctors at the hospital in China where the woman gave birth reported that such cases in which the unborn baby is pregnant are extremely rare and that these cases can occur once in 500,000 births. The two spouses had the misfortune to be in one of the 500,000 births in which such a case occurs.
After several checks, doctors found that one of the fetuses weighed about 15 grams and the other weighed no more than 10 grams. Surprisingly, the fetuses were already developed. They already had hands, feet, even a spine and intestines through which to feed.
The best solution that the doctors communicated to the two parents was for the baby to be operated on and the fetuses to be eliminated.
The baby, who was less than a month old, underwent surgery in which the two fetuses were removed. The result was a favorable one, and the girl recovered immediately and is perfectly healthy.
The cause of such rare incidents is not yet known, but so far no less than 200 such cases have been reported.
