The latest rumor suggests that Johnny Depp will play a role in the film. On IMDb, the 58-year-old actor is included in the cast for a reported Beetlejuice 2 film featuring Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder. It’ll be released in 2025, and it’ll be distributed by Warner Bros., the same studio that brought us Fantastic Beasts.
“Lydia Deetz (Winona Ryder) is wooed by the alluring Jersey Devil despite being married to a struggling real estate agent, David Harbour,” according to the official IMDb summary.
“The pleasure never stops with bizarre settings and euphoric individuals. It’s a heartbreaking story that reveals Beetlejuice as just another man trying to make his way in the world, despite the fact that it’s entertaining. When you state the release date three times in a row, the story continues.” On Twitter, his followers couldn’t keep their cool after hearing the wonderful news.
This comes as the trial of Depp vs. Amber Heard has been unfolding in the dark for the past few weeks. Heard testified in Fairfax, Virginia, that Depp physically attacked her multiple times throughout their marriage. And, as a result of her op-ed in the Washington Post in 2018, the actor was blacklisted in Hollywood, and WALT DISNEY apparently abandoned the Captain Jack Sparrow persona.
Heard’s op-ed also cost him his part as Gellert Grindelwald in The Fantastic Beasts to Mads Mikkelsen.
However, since the slander trial, many fans have gone to Depp’s defense, citing his roles in blockbuster films such as Public Enemies, Ed Wood, Alice in Wonderland, and Willy Wonka. Despite their enthusiasm for the actor, Disney replaced him in the latest Pirates of the Caribbean film with Margot Robbie.
Even if offered a large sum of money, Depp has stated that he will not return to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.
