It was the first day of school in the fourth grade when more than 12 police officers appeared in front of her

Vanessa is 8 years old and is the youngest child of the Vega family, she has 7 brothers.

Jose “Gil” Vega, her father, was killed while doing his job, a few weeks before school started.

With her father missing, Vanessa had no one to take her to school on the first day. Palm Spring police, where she lives, did not want the girl to be sad – so they all decided to bring her to school.

Sergeant William Hutchinson said the other police wanted to bring Vanessa to school so the girl would not be sad. More than 12 police officers lined up to escort the girl to school, showing her that she has more than 12 uncles who can support and help her.

The cops took Vanessa from home and drove her to school, where she is in the fourth grade. William Hutchinson also stated:

“It’s a very tragic time for her. We can’t ignore it. From now on, he has a whole new family on which to rely ”.

Vanessa is the youngest of the Vega family’s children at the funeral, Vanessa said she learned everything she knows from her father, who was also a police officer.
