Joshua Sailor, a New York City police officer, was investigating an abandoned building, but he never imagined what he would find there. When he went upstairs, he found a dog locked in a small room. The eight-month-old quadruped looked at the officer with sad, helpless eyes.
The PitBull dog had a thick chain around its neck and was tied to the radiator. All he had to do was get up and nothing else! He was also weak, and his spine, hip bone, and ribs could be easily seen.
When Sailor pulled the animal out of the abandoned building, he glanced at it as if to say, “Thank you for saving me from there.” At that moment, the officer realized that he could not leave him. As a female, she named PitBull Mila and took her to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) for examination and treatment.
After showing improvements in his health, the two have reunited and are now inseparable! “It was like waking up on Christmas morning and discovering presents,” Sailor said. “She needed me and I needed her.”
