Whenever a postman arrived at the Watkins family home, he could count on a warm greeting from their son. They had even given the boy a nickname: Matthew the Postman, just because the child’s biggest dream was to become a postman himself.
But one day the postman who usually brought them the mail noticed that Matthew was gone. Not just for a day or two, but for eight months! When the postman inquired, he learned something terrible: Matthew had been diagnosed with leukemia.

All the workers at the local post office knew they had to do something for him.
After the boy returned home from the hospital, they decided to make him a big surprise. An entire army of postal trucks, a total of 20 vehicles, arrived at his door. The teenager, who had worn a postman’s uniform all the time he had been in the hospital, was moved to tears by their gesture!
And that wasn’t all, Matt also received all kinds of gifts: another postman’s uniform, and even a bag specific to this job… Although some might think it’s a bit stupid, for the boy’s family it was a dream come true for their son, something that gave him the strength to move on.
This story shows us that although we often see heroes on TV, those in real life do not need magical powers!
