In small towns, the communities are extremely united, all the inhabitants know each other and always extend a helping hand when needed.
The story you are about to read took place in the US state of Oregon. Here, Josh Cyganik, the local railway station inspector, used to greet an old man who lived near his workplace, his name was Leonard. But one day Josh noticed that some teenagers were making fun of that old man and did something that united an entire neighborhood!
Those teenagers said the old man’s house could only be burned down. Here is what Josh remembers about that moment: “I noticed the expression on Leonard’s face. I can say for sure that he was very sad after this comment “.
So josh posted a photo of Leonard’s house on Facebook and asked for help from everyone in town: “I ask everyone who wants to help this old gentleman to gather on Saturday to paint his house.”
Leonard was delighted with the mobilization of the community, the renovation was attended by almost 100 people, some of whom even promised Leonard to repair the porch and the roof.
Only then did the Old Man say that he and his wife could not complete the renovation because he had been unexpectedly fired from his job.
