Ruby Connar was diagnosed with lymphoblastic leukemia 5 years ago. But while undergoing chemotherapy, her mother, Josie, was diagnosed with breast cancer.
On the date Ruby finished the last round of treatment, Mrs. Connar underwent a double mastectomy. The two found out they had cancer at about the same time and healed the same day! Now they confess that their relationship has become an extraordinary one, precisely because of the difficulties they had to face.
Ruby was declared cured in November last year, while her mother is practically still in remission, but the disease shows no signs of recurring. Everything was all the more strange and tragic as there had been no cases of cancer in their family.
Here is what the mother confesses about this difficult period for her family: “It is a unique bond that we share, we are closer than ever. We don’t argue at all. We celebrate every day and appreciate everything we have! ”
