Sabina Cohen’s life has not always been easy. The 36-year-old lived on the streets for two years after her father died and her mother suddenly fell ill. It all happened when she was only 15 years old.
She lived from day to day and slept wherever she could. At the age of 16, she was received in a motel. But she ran away after being beaten by a man.
“I was very vulnerable. There were times when I was hurt, but – in a way – I think that this experience helped me to become who I am today “, Sabina said.
By the age of 17, Sabina had already attended seven homeless funerals. The young woman aspired to overcome her condition.
That’s when she started selling magazines to raise money. At the age of 18, however, he made a decision that changed her life. She became a firefighter.
“I wanted to work in the fire brigade because I wanted to help other people who were also having a bad day,” she added.
Sabina soon became one of the best firefighters in the Kingdom. She took part in important events such as the Westminster bombing or the armed attack on the Findbury Park mosque.
Sabina now has a 9-year-old daughter named Gabriella and a doctorate in psychology. She even wrote a book about her life and is the ambassador of the magazine she sold on the streets.
