A little girl was showing no signs of love or sensitivity – after they went to the doctor and found out why, their lives changed
One of the most beautiful goals in life is to raise a baby. To conceive a child is a real miracle, a blessing that brings a lot of joy and satisfaction, but the amount of responsibilities and sacrifices are equivalent. If we were to put the two in balance, joy and satisfaction hang harder on the balance. Parents know exactly the feeling of gratitude felt when seeing the little child happy.
Adoption is a very sincere proof of love. However, there are many children who, despite the huge amount of love and care they receive, have great difficulties in strengthening the relationship with their adoptive parents, due to past traumas and the fear of being abandoned. Let’s find out the story of Julia, a little girl with a remarkable story, it’s mainly about second chances. About ambition and perseverance. Keeping a promise to someone who has reasons to be afraid of giving a second chance.

The two parents we will talk about have gone through many attempts to achieve their dream: to give birth to a baby. Tina and Rick Traster tried for many years to have children, they tried treatments, special exercises, they made changes in their lives but … they did not succeed. They thought of adopting a child, being very attracted to this option, thinking that it gives a new chance to a child. Eventually, the two managed to adopt an 8-month-old baby from Siberia.

The happiness they felt didn’t compare to anything they have experienced to the day when they kept the little one in their hands. Little Julia was warmly welcomed into her new family with much love and attention. Time passed and the mother could not notice that the girl was reluctant and showed no signs of emotional attachment, often avoiding eye contact and not responding to her.

Tina worried more and more about this, developing a very severe depression, believing that she was not made to be a mother. Seeing no change from Julia, Tina and Rick took the little one to a pediatrician for a checkup. Apparently, it wasn’t the fault of both parents or the little girl. It was the fault of the previous parents. Little Julia was suffering from Reactive Attachment Disorder, she was unable to approach a new family for fear of being abandoned again.

Understanding the root of the problem, the two parents were somewhat relieved and began to try even harder, showing even more love, affection, and patience for the little one. Eventually, she began to get closer and closer to the two.
Tina also wrote a book entitled “Saving Julia Twice” in which she explained the journey the three of them took to get results. Right now, Julia is changed and loves to play the violin, watch movies and spend time with her beloved parents. The photos attached in the article demonstrate the progress. Ambition and determination combined with patience and vision can make dreams come true! Share if you agree!
