Everyone laughed at the man walking with a huge restaurant umbrella in the rain. But when they found out why he was doing this, they started crying

It is called hospitality and it is normal to find it in every place dedicated to receiving “customers”. Knowing how to greet your customers guarantees you the best experience for your business – whether it’s a restaurant, a gym, or a grocery store – these things should be normal, but the reality is that many managers have no idea what services they provide to customers.

Sometimes, caring for the client is done through unexpected, unplanned gestures, dictated only by the good education we have. This is the case of what happened in a café in Dublin. When a summer rain started suddenly, the bartender did not think twice and made sure that a customer in a wheelchair came to his house dry. How? Borrowing an umbrella from the outdoor terrace.

This happened at The Pines Cafe Bar in Dublin, Ireland. The clientele was relaxing, spending quality time in the location when torrential rain started outside. Customers on the terrace took shelter as best they could by running their cars, but a customer with a disability on an electric scooter was obviously having trouble.

Fortunately, that day was the turn of Frankie, the local bartender. The young man did not think twice about doing everything he could to get that client home dry, just like everyone else.

Frankie went outside the cafe, took one of the umbrellas, and escorted the man to his home, making sure he got dry and safe.

The scene was truly impressive, to the point where one of the bartender’s colleagues decided to film the feat of Frankie walking alongside the local customer, defending him from the rain with that huge umbrella.

It is certainly one of those scenes that make you look back and restore your confidence in humanity. The video was posted on Twitter and garnered over 600,000 views: people who watched the video complimented Frankie for his simple gesture, which is undoubtedly very special for a customer in a wheelchair.

Sometimes it takes very little to make a difference in caring for guests, such as taking an umbrella from the terrace to shelter a customer from the rain!
