One of the twins was barely breathing. The nurse moved her right next to her sister, and the result impressed a whole world
We’ve all heard of the magical power of love in stories like Harry Potter, where Lily’s love for her son, Harry, was so strong that she managed to save her life and defeat the most powerful wizard of the century.
But, apparently, the power of love is not only present in the story. Human love and affection are actually used in hospitals in the United States and saved the life of a premature baby in 1995.
Kyrie and Brielle are the names of twin girls who were born prematurely and weighed less than 2 kilograms each. By the time they were three weeks old, Brielle’s health was deteriorating at first glance.
“The nurses at the NICU (Neonatology Intensive Care Unit) were very sincere and told me that things are going well at the moment, but the next 42-78 hours could turn the situation around,” said Paul Jackson. the father of twins, for CNN in 2013.
By the time the twins reached the age of 3 weeks, Brielle was struggling to breathe, her body oxygen level had reached a critical threshold, her heart rate had dropped, and her baby had begun to bruise.
Then nurse Gayle Kasparian asked her parents for permission to try something that had never been done before.
Something that would change the history of medicine in the United States. She decided to put Kyrie, the stronger girl, in the same incubator as Brielle and initiate skin-to-skin contact, also known as “Kangaroo Mother Care,” which was known to be effective outside the United States.
Within seconds, Kyrie placed her little arm over her sister, which the press at the time called “The rescuing hug.” Briella’s vital signs and breathing stabilized almost instantly.
“When I put Kyrie next to her sister, something amazing happened,” Kasparian told telegram.com. “It simply came to our notice then. The boys of the heart stabilized and its color changed. “
Prior to this, twins and triplets were placed separately for fear of possible infections, but Kyrie and Brielle’s experience was considered “historic” and changed that policy.
Not only did her twin sister almost bring Brielle back to life, but it was from this that the doctors learned about the amazing healing powers of touching babies from an early age.
Meanwhile, the twins have grown up, and now they are two perfectly healthy and normal young women, more united than ever, complementing each other and sharing the same thoughts.

This embrace has replaced all possible medications in such cases. Kyrie felt that her sister needed all the love she could give him, and this saved her sister’s life.
