His classmates, however, did not abandon him and organized a surprise fundraiser with the school’s teachers.
After raising the necessary money, the students put them in an envelope on which they wrote: “From your colleagues and teachers from the 6th grade. Here is your scholarship! ”
The money that the students and teachers managed to collect was then supplemented by the amount provided by the Benito Juárez Welfare Scholarship, offered by the federal government and equal to 80 pesos (approximately 4 USD) per month, reserved for all students who request this. thing. For unknown reasons, however, David had not been able to obtain it.
You can imagine, of course, the happiness and amazement of the poor boy when he received the envelope from his colleagues: he could not help but burst into tears. Today, David and his family received help from Mexico’s Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare after the story of the troubled family appeared on the front pages of local newspapers and on social media. But all this would not have been possible if David’s friends and colleagues had not organized this fundraiser: a big congratulations to all!
