In the Russian Republic of Karelia, a mother bear and her two cubs swam across a lake.
The mother, however, realized halfway through that she had overestimated her power and turned back.
However, the cubs continued to swim for a while before drowning.
The fishing boat was close by, and the cubs understood it was their only hope!
They clung to the boat as best they could with their claws and teeth, and their eyes screamed for aid.
The fisherman was naturally terrified of wild animals, but they could see that the bears only wanted to be rescued.
One of the fishermen, Ruslan Lukanin, says:
“They were swimming with their mother when we noticed she was fatigued and turned around. The cubs began to drown as a result. We had to get them out and take them to the island where their mother was going.

Of course, it was frightening, and of course, this is a risky activity. But these are living beings, and we could not forsake them or pretend that we were unaware of their presence.”
Bit the fisherman assessed the situation, the cubs clung to the boat on their own for a while.

One of the cubs was dragged into the boat by a net, while the other clung to the net in the sea as the men navigated the boat to land.
They conversed with the bears and cheered them up like youngsters the entire time.
Perhaps the bears were able to gather all of their strength because they sensed and saw people wishing them well.
The fishermen transported the cubs to one of the islands, where their mother swam away, as they could see.

They hoped the bear would be able to locate her young soon and assist them in recovering from their experience.
“They were fatigued to the point of being unable to walk on their own. “We’re hoping the mother will discover them and assist them in getting over it,” said bear rescuers.
