This cop refuses to go to work until a cup of tea is handed to him first thing in the morning.
That’s something you’d expect from a rambunctious old man, but not from a horse. And this dashing gentleman isn’t going to drink just anything. He expects his workers to make tea with more care than they do for themselves.
Many people find it difficult to start their day without a cup of tea or coffee. Animals, on the other hand, are not immune to this behavior. According to the Daily Mail, a horse named Jack, a 20-year-old police officer in Liverpool, UK, has refused to go into service for 15 years without a warm cup of tea.

Jack, then a five-year-old youngster, approached his rider, who had arrived at the stable with a mug of sweet tea. He dipped his tongue in it and was so pleased that he now refuses to leave the stable without tasting the tea.

Jack prefers skimmed milk, two tablespoons of sugar, and a splash of cold water in his tea. He can burn himself with a hot beverage.
Members of the Merseyside Mounted Police Department now begin each workday with a tea party with Jack. The horse, laying in the stall with his nose in fluffy sawdust, is looking forward to his meal.
“In the stable, we work with a total of 12 horses, including Jack. He’s undoubtedly a horse with a lot of personality, in my opinion. We all know his tea preferences: he only needs one spoonful of sugar in his cup. But if you put two, he obviously feels better,” said Lindsay Gaven, the chief of the Police Department and a part-time equestrian trainer.

However, the affection for the beverage is not as sweet as it appears at first glance. With the mugs in their hands, the stable workers had better not stroll past Jack.
If you’re near the stable and he sees you with a mug in your hand, he’ll almost surely come up to you and try to make the tea.
