This family had no idea when they acquired this abused Doberman pincher from a shelter that he would soon save their daughter’s life. To save the toddler from Australia’s dangerous Brown Snake, the heroic dog makes the ultimate sacrifice. He is bitten on the paw and must dash against the clock to survive.
Catherine Svilicic had recently adopted a Doberman and was taking him to the veterinarian for anti-venom treatment.
Kerry Kinder rescued Kahn, a Doberman after he had been severely abused for years. He had been hungry, abused, and left with broken ribs when she found him.
That didn’t stop the Svilicics from adopting Kahn, and they’re so glad they did!
17-month-old Charlotte was playing in the yard with Kahn when he began acting violently out of nowhere.
Catherine stood there in disbelief as her new dog threw her newborn daughter around by her diaper. That’s when she witnessed a massive Brown Snake (the world’s third most deadly snake) jump out from beneath the home and bite Kahn.
Kahn let out a tremendous howl and sprang back, the poisonous snake biting him on the paw, and the pooch collapsed instantly. They rushed him to the vet in the hopes of extracting the poison before it was too late.
“Khan was concentrating hard and acting aggressively toward Charlotte, so he grabbed her by the back of the nappy and flung her more than a meter.” I instantly recognized it was a snake, and Khan had been attempting to place himself between her and the snake before hurling her.” The Advertiser was informed by Catherine.
Fortunately, the snake was unable to discharge much venom, and Kahn was able to escape.
When the incident occurred, the Svilicic family had only had Kahn for four days. His unselfish gesture cemented his friendship with the family, who believe Kahn is responsible for their daughter’s survival.
“Khan gets a gold bowl if he wants one. ‘We owe him the rest of his life,’ Catherine explained.
It turns out that helping children is in Kahn’s blood. In a similar situation, his grandfather had rescued a child.
Kerry Kinder, whose organization, the Doberinling Boarding Kennels, rescued Kahn, wasn’t surprised by his bravery. She even claimed that his grandfather had been a hero in a similar situation!
“Because he came from an abused household, he was starving for attention and wanted to be loved, so I’m not surprised by what he’s done in his new home.”
Charlotte and Kahn have formed an unbreakable bond, and Catherine is certain that she can entrust her daughter’s life to him.
Charlotte now realizes and appreciates everything her best friend Kahn done for her when she was a baby!
