After a loving mother intervened, a baby who had a tough start in life after being abandoned in a run-down house by her birth parents is now thriving.
Liza Verbitskaya, from Russia’s Yaroslavl region, was abandoned in a rundown house about ten years ago.
After hearing cries emanating from the house, neighbors decided to call the cops and discovered her, then 1 year old, laying alone in a dark living room.
She was sent to the hospital for an examination, where doctors discovered she had a shattered hip and was severely malnourished.
The cops attempted but failed to locate her parents.
After a rocky start in life, things improved when she was admitted to the hospital for treatment.
Inna Nika was at the hospital visiting her own son when she heard a baby crying in the adjacent room.
Nika peered inside the room and discovered Liza crying on the bed. When Nika found out about Liza’s tragic past, she began bringing her toys and diapers.
This continued for days until she arrived at the hospital one day and discovered Liza had vanished. After Liza recovered, she was placed in an orphanage.
