A passer-by noticed a lot of people lying face down – he was totally amazed when he realized what is their reason
Kids love superheroes a lot, and that’s perfectly normal. They are very brave, have supernatural powers, have super cool costumes, and always manage to save the day. They have a lot of fans, they are in the center of attention and they are acclaimed for their courageous actions. Okay, this is fiction. Let’s talk about the real heroes out there. About those people who walk with courage in any situation. They cannot fly, they cannot lift cars with their bare hands and they are not laser resistant. Their power? Courage and determination. And, of course, that first step.
Firefighters are very well trained people to deal with any situation they face on the ground, whether it is climbing a building or extinguishing a large fire. Even if they endanger their lives at every moment, they have a clear vision and a well-established goal, to save the situation.
These people also have families waiting for them at home, and they have normal lives like all of us, they have needs, desires, plans, and dreams to fulfill. Vegetation fires are a real danger, the fire spreads extremely fast and in its path does not forgive anything. A lot of animals are injured or killed, their houses become ruins, the trees later green and healthy, they fall, knocked down by the burning flames, and also, fire can reach populated areas where it can cause even more misfortune and damage.
Due to the extreme heatwave, similar phenomena took place in central Portugal which resulted in a lot of serious problems, leaving behind only ashes and death. Forest fires killed more than 60 people and injured more than 100. More than 1,500 firefighters have been charged with the problem, and they often fail to cope with the blaze.
They fight the flames and engage in rescue operations, and rarely they manage to get some time for their own, sleeping or eating. A team of firefighters was surprised while they found a window of half an hour to sleep. They lay directly on the grass and took advantage of the little time they had available. A person that was passing noticed them and made a picture which was posted online, becoming viral soon after.
