According to Metro UK, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were offered the option of having less demanding roles in the royal family but preferred to remain attached to Buckingham Palace.
A guest on the Royally Obsessed podcast, royal expert Andrew Morton claimed that Regina had told Meghan that she could continue her acting career and not have full-time royal duties.
“They (Harry and Meghan) were given freedom of movement. They were told: here are the first-class tickets, choose which country you want to go to, we will make you youth ambassadors for the Commonwealth. ”
The Dukes of Sussex have repeatedly complained that they have struggled to meet their obligations. But Morton suggests that the couple did not sufficiently consider the Queen’s offer before agreeing to become full-time royal members.
In the two-hour interview she gave to Oprah Winfrey, Meghan Markle accused the Palace of many things that would have caused her to give up the duties she had assumed by becoming Harry’s wife. Regarding all these accusations, the author Anna Pasternak stated that “Many people felt that the interview was a disrespect to the monarchy, and in a way to the British. Because the monarchy is part of the British mentality. So this attack on the monarchy can be seen as an attack on the British. ”
Morton added: “(Meghan is) American, she had no idea how she was in the royal family. In a way, Harry should have been a little more careful about that and extended their engagement and courtship a bit. ”
Neither the royal family nor Harry and Meghan’s representatives confirmed or denied Morton’s remarks.
