A road and bridge worker named Metin Keskin rescued a kitten struggling between life and death during floods in Istanbul, Turkey, and brought it back to life by breathing it mouth-to-mouth.
Keskin recounted how he found the kitten when he and his colleagues were sent to clean up the debris. The little kitten had been carried away by the heavy rains and was now on the verge of death, and when Keskin saw him, he ran to save him. He was motionless, seemingly lifeless, and made no sound.
However, Keskin refused to leave the poor kitten. Right there on the street, he knelt above him and decided to try mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, hoping to revive the kitten.
Keskin began to press the kitten’s chest and breathe lightly into his mouth. He also massaged her small body to help get water out of her lungs and warm her.
After a few tense minutes, everyone applauded with joy and emotion when they saw a sign of life. The kitten expelled the water and let out a meow.
Keskin took the kitten to the nearest veterinary clinic, where he was cared for and fully recovered. However, it was not the last time Keskin saw the kitten because she decided to adopt him and give him a forever home.
“He’s becoming our kitten now and I’m so happy,” Keskin told reporters at a news conference at the veterinary clinic.
Thanks for everything you did for this kitten. You are a good man with a wonderful heart. It is a great joy to know that she is now safe, being welcomed with open arms in a loving family.
