The whole thing happened in Massachusetts, where a seal baby was spotted!

The whole incident took place in Seabrook, Massachusetts, where a man saw something strange and stopped to take a closer look. However, as he approached, he realized that what he had seen was in fact a baby seal that was in urgent need of medical attention.

“The seal came with the wave of alluvium as a result of the storm,” Ashley Stokes, rescue manager at Seacoast Science Center (SSC), told The Dodo.

The seal was only 2 months old and there was a major danger of being hit by a car. The rescue team noticed the animal’s behavior and quickly realized that it would not survive alone for too long.

“I was immediately aware that he was on his own when we arrived at the scene. Seals are usually very aggressive when you approach them, “Stokes said. “But this chick allowed us to get close to him and move him to the transport cage without incident.”

Rescuers took the seal to the National Marine Life Center, where it was named Saco.

“I quickly realized that my blood sugar was extremely low and I was dehydrated,” Stokes said. “Fortunately, the x-rays did not reveal any serious injury, so our priorities are for the blood sugar level to return to normal and to be hydrated, and then to help him be able to eat fresh fish on his own again.”.

Now, the adorable seal pup will spend his next period in a special center for animals, and later he will be released into the wild.
