The pig escapes from the farm before being slaughtered.

The maternal instinct not only triggers countless acts of courage but is the answer to what many mothers know as an innate feeling. This is present among human mothers, but also females of other species skillfully reveal to us that they are able to do anything to protect their pups from the dangers that occur in the environment.

Precisely for this reason, the heroic act of a sow to save her ten piglets does not stop to impress the users of social networks around the world.

It is about a sow, now called Matilda, who managed to escape from an extremely dangerous place for her and the piglets she was preparing to give birth to.

The incident took place in Ollerton, Nottinghamshire (England), and became known thanks to 49-year-old Anna Aston, who, while walking her dog through the woods, witnessed an incredible sight.

A brave mother who takes care of her little ones.

Right in the middle of the path he was walking on, at one point, a sow appeared in front of her, feeding her piglets, which left Anna speechless.

“I was walking on a path through the forest on Monday night when I heard something alive moving and I knew immediately that it was a large animal. I thought it might be a dog or a badger, but I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw a sow feeding her piglets, ”says Aston.

Apparently, it was Matilda who had escaped from a nearby farm before being turned into meat for consumption or separated from the unborn chicks at the time of the escape.

Anna decided to turn to Brinsley Animal Rescue to help the animal and the puppies. He now defends Matilda in front of the owner of the pig farm to let her survive and give her full freedom.

Anna feels that the poor mother deserves a new life more than anything.

“I didn’t know there was a pig farm nearby and it must have gotten out of there. It’s really amazing that she did everything she could to protect her babies. ”

“She deserves a safe and happy life with her small family and I think she has now gained her freedom. I hope that the farmer has the heart now to allow the rescue and relocation of Matilda ”- the woman confesses.

For his part, Jon Beresford, director of Brinsley Animal Rescue, explained that they needed the farmer’s consent to save the piglets. In a recent post, the organization celebrated the completion of the process:

“We can’t tell you how excited we are, but we managed to get Matilda and all her piglets.”

“Thank you all very much for helping us make this possible. And to all the journalists who spread this story around the world. We also thank the farm for allowing us to save this brave sow and her beautiful babies. ” Beresford added.

In a later video, you can see that the new mother lives in the best conditions:

But perhaps the best news of all is that shelter volunteers have committed to transferring all the piglets to suitable homes. And if this is not possible, the little ones will stay with their mother in the shelter.

Matilda is a true example that motherly love can overcome any obstacle. People need to understand that animals also have feelings.
