New Year’s Eve is a happy occasion for most people, full of parties with friends, celebrations, and a good mood. This man, Bob, was doing the same thing when something terrible happened to him.
He was home with his dog, Kelsey, the two of them were enjoying an evening by the stove fire, but at 10 o’clock at night the fire was going to go out, so Bob decided to go outside to get some more wood.
When he went outside, he slipped on an ice-covered part and broke his neck. As he lay paralyzed on the frozen ground, he knew his situation was terrible. It was -4 degrees and Bob could not move, and his closest neighbors were far too far from his house to hear him.
However, he cried for help, hoping someone would hear him. Although no neighbor heard him, someone else did: his dog!
When he heard his master crying for help, he ran away, and when he saw Bob lying on the floor in the cold, he sat on him to warm him!
Realizing that something very serious was happening, Kelsey began to bark and continued to do so even after Bob had lost consciousness due to the pain. The dog sat there for 20 hours, warming him up and barking for help.
Eventually, someone heard him, and Bob’s life, his dear master, was saved.
