Layla Wray heard them all on the phone because of her job: she’s an emergency room operator, a job that’s not for the faint of heart. In order to be hired for this position, you must know how to react in emergency situations.
She is the one who sends police, firefighters, or ambulances to the scene and she also helps those who called to stay calm until the crews get there.
Something happened to her that scared her recently: she got a call she didn’t think she would ever hear, her daughter, Kassidee, was on the phone.
Layla answered the phone with her usual “What is your emergency?”, To which she was answered: “Mommy, mommy, the house is on fire!”.
It took Layla a while to process the information, but then she went straight into the role and sent someone home. While someone else would have lost her temper when she found out that her own house was on fire, she was able to stay calm and call for help.
Layla was also impressed by the way her daughter was able to stay calm during the call, at only 14 years old she remained extremely responsible.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the fire, even the family dog managed to escape unharmed, but the whole house burned down.
If Layla hadn’t been able to keep her composure at the alarming news, all the things she cared about would have gone up in flames.
