When love is true, it lasts a lifetime. It doesn’t matter that time passes irreversibly or that age is no longer that of youth – even when you are old, this extraordinary feeling does not cease to exist, and the heart continues to beat for the person you have always loved.
Just like Karl and Donna Von Schwarz, a 63-year-old married couple who, despite the hardships of life, continue to be together and closer than ever.
Donna is 81 years old and in 2018 she needed heart surgery, which was followed by an epileptic episode and a rather serious stroke; for this reason, Donna spent most of that year moving from one hospital to another. And yet her husband Karl did not abandon her, not even for a second.
Karl and Donna met in the 1950s and finally moved in together in 1956; the love between the two resulted in four children who in turn blessed them with nine grandchildren over the years!
Such a large family had to be born out of such great love, which is why Karl, after a long period of rebuilding his wife, promised her that when she was discharged, he would buy her a new engagement ring!
A promise kept in all respects; Once out of the hospital, Donna could see Karl kneeling before her as he offered her a shining ring that would testify to their eternal love; after all, Karl did not abandon his wife for the duration of his hospitalization, not even for a minute!
Karl and Donna have been married for 63 years, and not even the hardships of life have affected their love; to celebrate this rare connection, a ring was exactly what they needed.
