Megan Markle has a genetic problem.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry became parents for the second time this year when their little girl, Lillibet ‘Lilli Diana Mountbatten-Windsor saw the light of day on June 4, 2021, two years after the birth of their son, Archie Harrison, on May 6. 2019.
During the Duchess of Sussex’s second pregnancy, photographs taken when she visited the National Theater suggest she has hypermobile joints. While stroking her belly, experts saw Meghan’s thumb seem to bend unusually long, and experts say this is the first symptom that betrays that someone has hypermobility, usually a hereditary condition.
Osteopath Anisha Joshi explains: “People with hypermobility are often able to move their limbs in ways that others cannot, as seen in photos where Meghan’s thumb appears bent uncomfortably. This means that some or all of a person’s joints may have an unusual movement. Hypermobility is an inherited condition, the main cause being genetically determined changes in collagen, a type of protein in the body that is found in the ligaments, supporting them. Specifically, there is not enough collagen in the body that can make the joints free and stretched. ”
As for the likelihood that Meghan will genetically transmit this problem to Lillibet and Archie, it’s not certain, but it all comes down to the genetic mutation of collagen – the one that protects our joints and acts as a shock absorber for them to move without problems, no pain. If Lillibet and Archie will have the same type of problem, it is not a major concern, but rather it means that they will also have a greater range of motion in the joints, so strengthening the surrounding muscles to keep everything stable will become a necessity. .
The osteopath added: “Many people with hypermobility do not suffer from pain, and weight training is ideal to avoid problems such as joint dislocation.”
Meghan has not confirmed whether or not she has hypermobile joints, but this also explains why she is quite good at yoga. Past photos from her former lifestyle blog “The Tig” have shown that she masters some of the more advanced yoga movements that require a lot of flexibility in the joints, so it would definitely make sense.
