One of them smacked the man across the face and demanded the car keys. They are in the house, Robert said.
Three of the invaders stayed with him, while the fourth proceeded to the house to look for the keys.
Inside, though, devoted pets were already waiting for him.
They chased the intruder away, then dashed out the open door to attack the others.
The perpetrators were unharmed, but they quickly realized they couldn’t stand up to two enraged dogs and fled the area.
Robert escaped with only a black eye, despite the fact that things could have turned rather badly.
The man provided the animals with a home, as well as care and attention.
This was enough for them to pounce on the horde of violent people without regard for their own safety.
