Anyone who has had the pleasure of sharing their lives with a Pug will attest to the fact that they are extremely affectionate. Unfortunately, they have a strong doggish odor — or Puggish odor, if you prefer.
Violet, one of the Puglets, was recently barred from her usual night-time cuddle spot owing to her peculiar odor. Violet’s father, in a noble gesture of protest and solidarity, gave up his own bed to share the floor with his beloved pug.
Violet, it’s worth noting, was not always the apple of her father’s eye. This summer, when McKenna’s daughter McKenna brought the puppy home, dad was less than delighted. Violet, on the other hand, was certain that her human father had hung the moon and pursued him like a puppy dog!
“My father was adamant about not getting a dog. McKenna told The Dodo that it took him approximately a week to completely accept. “However, there’s something about my father that my dog adores more than the rest of us, so when he realized he was her favorite, they became best friends.”
McKenna’s mom was fine with the duo snuggling in bed each night until last week when it was time for the beautiful pup to have regular surgery. Violet was not allowed to be bathed until she had fully recovered, according to the vet’s recommendations.
McKenna explained, “She’s just very stinking right now, and my mom just cleaned her linens.”
McKenna’s mother, unable to share her bed with the stinky Pug, put her foot down and banned Violet. Dad did not dispute because he realized that a happy wife equals happy life. He simply gathered his cushions and sat with his favorite gal on the floor.
McKenna took the following photo of the couple before they went to bed.
My mother warned my father not to put our dog on the bed tonight because the bed is spotless and she is filthy, so he did it LMFAO.
She acknowledges that she is a little envious of her dog’s preference for her father, but she is relieved that the two have reconciled.
“I’m delighted he likes her so much,” McKenna remarked, “because it’s a lot better than when he didn’t.” “She’s pretty much the finest thing that’s ever happened to him since then.”
Violet’s sutures will be removed later this week, but in the meanwhile, this dedicated dog parent will continue to sleep on the floor with her.
