A loyal dog did not leave his best friend even on the hospital bed!

The child has very special emotional support!
A nine-year-old boy named James Isaac was put to the test in life. He has autism, and his health problems have definitely marked his life.

He was taken for an MRI scan one day so that doctors could better understand his problems. He was not alone, his loyal quadruped named Mahe being with him.

Even when James was under anesthesia, Mahe refused to walk away from his best friend, clinging to him and remaining alert to protect him.

“He was just looking at James and he seemed very worried,” James’ mother Michelle Isaac told Stuff.co.nz.

A very special dog!
Even though Mahe’s help in the hospital was invaluable, Michelle says that her son’s best friend is an indispensable element in the little one’s daily life, especially during the routine walks, since the dog joined the family two and a half years ago.

In addition to preventing James from getting lost or in danger, the quadruped trained by the Assistance Dogs New Zealand Trust keeps him quiet whenever he is in public, places where he used to feel anxious and fearful.

“There is a kind of magic that takes place between a child with autism and quadrupeds. The latter has a fantastic ability to reassure children, “ADZT volunteer Wendy Isaacs told Stuff.co.nz. “Children are able to maintain eye contact with the dog, even if they do not do so with their parents and siblings.”
