Some people consider Hades to be an evil and dangerous dog, simply because of his appearance.
Recently, however, Hades proved that even an animal in need of help can find its place in his big heart, not only the master who raised and educated him so beautifully…
Hades lives in Mexico with its owner, Juan José P. Flores.
Flores remembers that a stray cat had been visiting his property for some time. Although he could never get close to her, Flores regularly left food to make sure he would never be hungry.
This act of kindness did not go unnoticed by Hades – who soon followed Flores’ example with a loving gesture.
The other day, Flores was home when he heard a noise at the back door, where Hades likes to sit. Flores thought he was a neighbor, but in fact, it was his dog, Hades, who had something important to share.
“He was desperate and making a lot of noise,” says Flores.
Coming out to check, Flores couldn’t believe what he was seeing – Hades was beaming with happiness because he had invited someone to stay in his doghouse.
And “that someone” was none other than the cat mentioned above. Apparently, the cat was pregnant and needed a safe place to give birth. Hades understood this immediately and offered him the right place.
“I was very surprised,” Flores said.
But Hades’ kindness to the cat did not end here. When she went into labor, Hades remained close to her at that vulnerable moment.
“He dragged a blanket to the house and sat down in front of the entrance,” Flores said. “Clearly the cat felt protected by him.”
Under the watchful eye of the dog, the cat gave birth to two beautiful kittens.
Received and accepted unexpectedly by much love, the new mother could not be happier with her kittens. So was Hades, who was there to “welcome” them.
“I think he felt like a father,” Flores said.
Flores decided to move the new mother and her kittens into the house, where he and Hades can keep a close eye on them.
That was the moment when a beautiful friendship was established between Hades and the cat, who received the name, Nicol. Flores says the two animals spend a lot of time together.
It seems that Hades is finally calm, knowing that the cat and the puppies are always close and safe.
When the time came, Flores promised to find suitable families for the kittens; Meanwhile, Nicol will always have a safe place in the house with him and Hades.
Flores hopes that Hades’ example will bring about a change in preconceptions about this stigmatized race and perhaps even inspire others with the goodness in his heart.
“Pitbulls are wonderful dogs,” Flores said. “Hades set everything aside to help another animal. We should do the same without expecting anything in return! ”
