David Bautista, a Tampa citizen, and former professional wrestler has offered a reward for information on who brutally abused the dog he recently rescued from the Humane Society of Tampa Bay.

After hearing about the tragedy, celebrity friends and others more than quadrupled the prize for information on who neglected the puppy who was discovered with a metal chain around her neck.

The Humane Society of Tampa Bay received a 3-month-old puppy with a metal chain lodged in her neck. For information on her abuser, Marvel actor Dave Bautista and his famous friends have offered a prize of more than $13,000.

According to the Humane Society’s Facebook page, the puppy was taken to the shelter earlier this week after a woman driving home in Tampa observed the puppy eating rubbish, discovered the injuries, and hurried her to the shelter. Sage (later renamed Penny Bautista by her new home) is a 3-month-old dog who was given the name Sage.

Sherry Silk, CEO of the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, said, “This dog was found abandoned in a cemetery eating garbage and went home in Dave Bautista’s Rolls Royce.” “Wow, what a rags-to-riches tale.”

After sharing her tale on Instagram, Bautista offered $5,000 to anyone who might help discover the individual who harmed or neglected the dog.

Actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan of The Walking Dead said he’d contribute another $500, and actor Mickey Rourke offered $1,000. According to Bautista, the Humane Society contributed $1,500, and Alvarez Injury Law in Tampa contributed $5,000.

The puppy is doing well following surgery to remove the chain from her neck, according to Bautista.
