Over time, there have been many people who have shown us that age is not an impediment when you want to enjoy life. Whether you are 18 or even 80, if you discover what you are really capable of, you can do many beautiful things and create unforgettable memories.
Fifty residents of the Julia Wallace Retirement Village, their grandchildren, and employees of the place, helped by the “80 Odd Years of Happy” foundation, recreated the video “Shake it off” by the American singer Taylor Swift, in an unexpected way. Most of the protagonists have an average age of 82 years, which made everything even more impressive.

The extravagant outfits, similar to those in the famous video, and the enviable energy of these elderly people created a completely magical moment.
With each scene filmed, they proved that you are never too old to dance with enthusiasm and to adapt to the modern world.

The filming lasted a week, and the video was presented at a special gala in Palmerston North. The organization, which had the idea for retirees to recreate Taylor Swift’s video, also helped the “Diana Isaac” nursing home in Christchurch pay tribute to Pharrell Williams.
