Prayers are needed for Joanna Gaines

Following an unplanned back surgery, Joanna Gaines is recuperating at home.

The 44-year-old Magnolia Network personality revealed on Thursday that she had undergone surgery just two weeks prior due to a severe back ailment. In a frank Instagram post, she shared a picture of her giving the peace sign while lying in bed in the hospital and afterward cuddling with her son Crew, who is 4 years old.

She stated in an Instagram caption, “I broke my back in high school cheerleading – basically a basket toss became back injury and I’ve been battling with it ever since.

When she was began dating her husband Chip in 2001, she underwent a microdiscectomy treatment, which required her to postpone their second date. She said that she underwent the same procedure “on another disc two weeks ago.” I’ve always jokingly said that my back tends to act up at the most inconvenient times, so the timing of everything with the holiday season was a little stressful.

Joanna, though, is seeing the bright side of her comeback.

“Sincere thanks for the rest period during the busiest season of the year. Simply remaining still, taking in the wonder of the world around me, and doing nothing has been a blessing “She composed.

She sent her followers a sincere holiday message as she concluded the post.

She replied, “Wishing you and yours a beautiful Christmas week.” Even though things might not go exactly as you had hoped, I hope you can still appreciate the wonder of the present moment.

On the cover of PEOPLE last month, the Fixer Upper actress discussed how she came to value spontaneity as she got older. One of those great, unplanned encounters involved her son Crew and a touching tale.

“Mom, I need you to get on your stomach, on the ground, and look at what these ants are carrying,” he stated as I was getting ready for work. Telling PEOPLE, Joanna. “Baby, I can see them from up here,” I exclaimed.

Joanna, who is married to Chip and has a child with him named Crew as well as sons Drake, 17, and Duke, 14, and daughters Ella, 16, and Emmie, 12, decided to think it over again.

I’m too old for this, I keep thinking as I’m lying on my tummy, she added. “Then Chip arrives with the children and begins to honk, asking, “Are you okay!?” They all believed I had fallen because Mom doesn’t usually act in that way.”

Joanna was happy to spend that time with her kid, despite the fact that it was “basic and dumb.” “I’ve grown to understand that unanticipated events can be really joyful. I’m relieved I caught that “She spoke.
