The illustrious performer, who is 83 years old, broke the heartbreaking news on Instagram alongside two pictures of Jeff.
In her letter, Linda referred to the event as “A celebration of my son Jeff’s life.”
“He was the nicest, funniest, and sweetest human being there ever was… he brought so much joy into the world, and everyone adored him! I wish him luck and enchantment on his voyage.
She posted a picture of Jeff’s back as he was riding a bicycle through the woods, and she also posted a picture of Jeff’s name carved into the sand on a beach while the sun was setting.
Following Linda’s tweet, an outpouring of sympathy and support from followers came in the form of condolence messages.
Jordana Brewster, an actress, was one of the people who sent their good wishes, writing: “Linda I truly apologize. I am thinking about you and sending you all of the love and strength that I have.
Ed Thrasher is Jeff’s father. Linda was married to Ed from 1962 until 1983, hence Ed is Jeff’s father.
Ed passed away in 2009 as a result of cancer-related complications.
She also has a daughter named Kehly Sloane, who is 54 years old and is married to a man named Lance Sloane. Together, they have two children.
Linda began her professional life as a model before landing a starring role on Dallas in 1978. This was the turning point in her career.
On the CBS soap opera, she played the role of Sue Ellen Ewing, who was married to the character J. R. Ewing, played by Larry Hagman.
There were a total of 14 seasons of the show Dallas, and Linda appeared in 12 of those seasons.
As a result of her performance as Sue, she was put in the running for one Emmy Award as well as two Golden Globes.
She went back to Dallas for spinoffs in 1996 and 1998, and she also starred on the TNT relaunch from 2012 through 2014.
