The boxing champion builds 1,000 houses and offers them to his less fortunate peers

His name is Emmanuel Dapidran Pacquiao, but everyone in the Philippines calls him Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao. He is a famous Filipino boxing champion in the Far Pacific Islands. He is the first and only world champion in eight different weight classes, where he has won twelve world titles, as well as the first to win the linear championship in five different classes.

She held this title continuously for four years, until June 2012. Today she is a real star, very loved by the local population. But no one would have guessed what Manny had planned to do with the money he had earned over time.

After so many fights, medals, and such a long career, it is no mystery that Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao won a lot of money. After all, he was the highest-paid athlete in the world along with baseball player Alexander Rodriguez, with an annual income of 32 million dollars in 2011, while in 2015 he ranked second with 160 million dollars.

A champion born of ashes, who happily recounts a very difficult childhood. The fourth of a family of six children, Manny lived in Kibawe in the Philippines without a father and without a home for much of his early life. Always hungry and in a precarious economic situation, Manny often says that she only had her first shoes when she was twelve. Manny’s boxing career began in adolescence at the age of 16 and, thanks to boxing gloves, he began earning enough to feed his family. In the early 2000s, he was noticed by coach Freddie Roach who – like an old fox – anticipated his potential. From that moment on, his career took off. Matches have multiplied, as have victories.

But the heart and tenacity of this champion can be seen with the naked eye and outside the ring. Manny is not only famous for his sporting achievements. “Pacman” is also known for a variety of activities for his peers. The champion joined the Filipinos after the devastating destruction of his country in 2011 and 2013 when typhoons swept everything in their path. Support not only moral but also economic, which made it possible to help the survivors in rebuilding everything they had lost.

Today, Mannie is praised for another charitable initiative: building 1,000 homes for the poorest residents of Sarangani province. Of course, this type of initiative cannot cure all the problems of a disadvantaged city, but it contributes significantly to improving the lives of many families.

The houses are intended for families of 3 or 4 people and will ensure a more comfortable life for many poor residents of Sarangani. All this reveals that “Pacman” is not only one of the best boxers of all time but also a noble spirit, always attentive to the needs of his peers.
