The cat warns her mistress that her father has cancer and refuses to leave him: “He knows he needs her.”

Who said cats can’t be affectionate and intuitive about the feelings and moods of the people they care about the most? While we have countless examples in which dogs are the main protagonists, cats are also able to amaze us with powerful manifestations of love, to an even greater extent than we might think. When she heard that her beloved father was about to start therapy for a form of cancer, Kelly Nugent quickly packed her bags and left Miami for New York, taking two wonderful cats with her. One of them, named “Potato (Tato)”, especially likes Kelly’s father: she is always by his side and supports him at any time of the day, with affection and caresses, as only a cat can do.

Kelly Nugent is very attached to her father, whom she considers her best friend, which is why, when she heard about the terrible diagnosis, she immediately went to New York to be close to him. No one is ever prepared for this kind of news and it certainly needs some support to withstand the news and stress! In addition to her regular luggage, Kelly took the two cats with her, one of whom immediately showed her true nature once she got used to her new home: staying close to Kelly’s father all the time!

After just two weeks, the cat Tato seemed to realize that something was wrong with Kelly’s father, and he also seemed to have suddenly taken on the great responsibility of caring for him: “It’s the sweetest thing that I’ve never seen him because I know that Tato felt that something was wrong and that my father needed his help, “said Kelly, adding:” He’s always around him and he’s acting like, ‘This it’s my job now. I care about you. In short, it’s as if he knows. ”

And it should be noted that Kelly’s father was not really a cat-loving person before meeting Tato, because he always said he preferred dogs. But her beautiful cat melted her heart! Now the two are inseparable!

It’s not easy to cope with chemotherapy, both physically and mentally, but Tato takes care of his “new” owner in an impeccable way.

As Kelly says, “If my dad is at the computer, Potato jumps on the keyboard. If he’s at the table with his papers, Potato is sitting on the sheets. If he relaxes on the couch, Potato jumps into his arms. ” She can’t leave him alone, because he knows he needs help.

The good news is that since Potato entered Kelly’s father’s life, the man’s health has gradually improved. Cancer appears to be in remission, and in June 2021, Kelly’s father is expected to undergo a bone marrow transplant.

After all, it seems that pet therapy or the therapeutic help that comes from the presence of a pet really works. Potato is another beautiful case in which the unconditional love between the animal and the owner brings incredible benefits to the body.

We wish this beautiful family all the best, hoping to hear some wonderful news soon!
