We can all make new friends in the most unexpected places. Little Isaiah’s parents certainly had no idea that their son would befriend a baby gorilla when they decided to take him to the Columbus Zoo in Ohio.
The baby gorilla, named Kamoli, was in an enclosure behind a secure window when Isaiah came to play with him.
“He was looking at primates when I asked him, ‘Isaiah, how are gorillas?’ And he started punching his chest,” Isaiah’s mother Sherry Chute told The Columbia Dispatch.
And this is exactly what caught Kamoli’s attention. All it took was an exhortation from the boy for the gorilla cub to follow him exactly and start a running race back and forth in front of the window that separates them.

When Kamoli runs to the left of the enclosure, Isaiah moves in the same direction. When Kamoli hides behind a tree, Isaiah tries to find him. “Catch Me If You Can!” – The gorilla seems to be telling the baby.
The child chuckles all this time, and Kamoli behaves as if the two have been friends for a long time!
Isaiah’s mother was delighted to see the whole scene and that her son made a unique and exotic friend. Humans and gorillas have a lot in common, so it’s no wonder the two got along so well.

Their interaction lasted about five minutes and probably the “hide-and-seek” game would have resumed indefinitely if the extremely playful protagonists had not taken a short break.
When the time came for the boy and his family to leave, the little one seemed to say goodbye to the gorilla baby with great tenderness. He seems to caress the monkey on the head and then waves goodbye.
“It was a very fun interaction,” says Sherry. “That’s right, Isaiah. Anyone who knows him knows that he is very playful. It was so much fun to see him interacting with animals. He was so happy at that moment that it broke my heart. ”
But Isaiah not only touched his mother but also the hearts of more than two million users who had the opportunity to see the filming on YouTube.
“It’s such a nice scene. Demonstrate how much gorilla children and puppies have in common. How can people hunt these amazing animals in the wild? [..] ”, wrote a commentator.
