The Deputy spotted a dog lying on the side of the road in pain after being hit by a car. He makes a gesture that warms everyone’s hearts

It is a police officer’s responsibility to protect their community—not just the people, but also the animals.

One touching photo depicts a sheriff’s deputy who went above and above the call of duty to console a wounded puppy.

Deputy Josh Fiorelli of the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office in Florida responded at the scene of a dog being struck by a car in December 2018.

He was the only one who could see the dog. He called animal control, but as he waited, he realized he needed to do something special for the dog, who was injured and lying on the freezing ground.

“It was a chilly day. Fiorelli told WFTV that she was drenched. “I decided to be that person because she didn’t have anyone.”

He threw a coat around the dog and petted her to make her feel better. His thoughtfulness was appreciated by the dog.

The deputy explained, “I know a lot of dogs become defensive when they are hurt.” “She was not at all defensive. She was accepting of my attempts to pet and care for her.”

Fiorelli was praised as a hero after a passerby captured the emotional incident on camera. It was a simple act of generosity, not done for attention or publicity.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office tweeted, “Thank you Deputy Fiorelli for serving with care and compassion.”

One commenter remarked, “It takes a rare individual to be so sympathetic to comfort this injured puppy.”

The dog, on the other hand, suffered a dislocated limb but was anticipated to heal totally. She was sent to the Osceola County Animal Shelter, where she was scheduled for surgery.

She didn’t have a microchip, so the shelter had to wait for someone to come forward and claim her. It’s unclear whether the dog was ever claimed or put up for adoption.

But the most important thing was that she had a kind person by her side when she most needed it.

“Keep an eye on them,” Fiorelli says, hoping that his new friend will find a decent home and get microchipped. He told WFTV, “They may only be a part of your life, but you are their entire existence.”

Thank you, Deputy Fiorelli, for your wonderful gesture for this sad dog! Please spread the word about this touching tale!
